Moderate 4.1 quake hits near Casablanca, Casablanca-Settat, Morocco

An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred only 10 minutes ago 15 km southwest of Casablanca, Morocco, Spain's Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 7 km beneath the epicenter near Casablanca, Casablanca-Settat, Morocco, early evening on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023, at 7:37 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
