Small earthquake of magnitude 2.9 just reported 6 km southwest of Brest, France

An earthquake of magnitude 2.9 occurred only 12 minutes ago 6 km southwest of Brest, France, France's Réseau National de Surveillance Sismique (RéNaSS) reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 5 km beneath the epicenter near Brest, Finistère, Bretagne, France, around noon on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023, at 12:21 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 2.9 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Plouzane (pop. 13,100) located 4 km from the epicenter.

In Landerneau (pop. 16,100, 24 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
