Small earthquake of magnitude 3.7 just reported 7 km northeast of Grindavik, Iceland

The Icelandic Met Office (IMO) reported a magnitude 3.7 quake in Iceland near Grindavik, Grindavíkurbær, Southern Peninsula, only 23 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Friday, November 10th, 2023, at 4:51 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 6 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Grindavik (pop. 2,900) located 7 km from the epicenter, Vogar (pop. 1000) 9 km away, and Reykjanesbær (pop. 2,000) 14 km away.
