A look out circular (LoC) was issued against Sheikh Shahjahan, the TMC strongman, following Friday's attack on ED officers in Sandeshkhali. The BSF has been alerted to prevent Shahjahan from crossing over to Bangladesh. A purported audio clip has surfaced in which Shahjahan asserts his innocence and claims to have nothing to fear from central agencies. Three FIRs have been filed, including one based on an ED email detailing the attack and video footage. Police are investigating attempts-to-murder by ED and criminal trespass allegations against Shahjahan's caretaker. BJP has staged demonstrations in protest of the attack.
