An earthquake of magnitude 3.7 occurred early evening on Monday, August 12th, 2024, at 7:52 pm local time near Ierissos, Chalkidikí, Greece, as reported by the National Observatory of Athens (NOA).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 5 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
