Moderate magnitude 4.2 quake hits 79 km south of Antibes, France in the evening 4.2 quake 14 Sep 8:47 pm (GMT +2) A magnitude 4.2 earthquake near Antibes, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France, was reported only 3 minutes ago by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter in the evening on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at 8:47 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
