Navy Capt. Randy J. Berti assumed command of Fleet Readiness Center East from Capt. James M. Belmont during a Sept. 12 ceremony marking the transfer of responsibility for the depot and from one officer to another. The change of command ceremony, which dates back to the Civil War, marked the conclusion of Belmont’s military career; the outgoing FRCE commanding officer will be retiring following 30 years of service.
