Magnitude 3.7 earthquake strikes near Ierissos, Chalkidikí, Greece

Just 4 minutes ago, a 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Ierissos, Chalkidikí, Greece. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Monday, November 11th, 2024, at 7:10 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.7 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Karyes (pop. 240) located 8 km from the epicenter, and Ouranoupoli (pop. 1000) 16 km away.
