Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.2 just reported 10 miles northwest of Kalaoa, Hawaii, United States

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.2 quake in the United States near Kalaoa, Hawaii County, Hawaii, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, at 8:26 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 29 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS), which listed it as a magnitude 4.2 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.2.
