Small magnitude 3.6 quake hits 12 km south of Glogow, Poland early afternoon An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred early afternoon on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, at 2:18 pm local time near Glogow, Głogów County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 4. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. A second report was later issued by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which listed it as a magnitude 4.2 earthquake. Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc. In Jerzmanowa (pop. 600) located 4 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking. Weak shaking might have been felt in Polkowice (pop. 21,600) located 6 km from the epicenter, and Glogow (pop. 67,300) 12 km away. Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Lubin (pop. 77,500) located 20 km from the epicenter, Nowa Sol (pop. 40,400) 36 km away, Legnica (pop. 106,000) 40 km away, Leszno (pop. 63,600) 47 km away, and Boleslawiec (pop. 40,700) 47 km away. In Wroclaw (pop. 634,900, 85 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
