Small magnitude 3.6 quake hits 2 miles southeast of Vallejo, California, United States around noon An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred around noon on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, at 12:41 pm local time near Vallejo, Solano County, California, USA, as reported by the United States Geological Survey. According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a very shallow depth of 6.1 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.6 as well. Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter. Weak shaking might have been felt in Vallejo (pop. 121,700) located 2 miles from the epicenter, Benicia (pop. 28,200) 5 miles away, Hercules (pop. 25,300) 5 miles away, and Martinez (pop. 38,100) 7 miles away. Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Richmond (pop. 109,700) located 12 miles from the epicenter, Concord (pop. 128,700) 13 miles away, Berkeley (pop. 121,000) 15 miles away, Fairfield (pop. 113,000) 16 miles away, and San Francisco (pop. 864,800) 23 miles away. In Sacramento (pop. 490,700, 53 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
Earthquake data: Date & time: Nov 13, 2025 12:41 pm (GMT -8) local time (13 Nov 2025 20:41 GMT)Magnitude: 3.6 Depth: 9.82 km Epicenter latitude / longitude: 38.08°N / 122.24°W ( Solano County, California, United States) Primary data source: USGShttps://www.volcanodiscovery.com/earthquake/news/286927/Small-magnitude-36-quake-hits-2-miles-southeast-of-Vallejo-California-United-States-around-noon-.html
