Magnitude 3.1 earthquake strikes near Paphos, Pafos, Cyprus

An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred only 29 minutes ago 19 km northeast of Paphos, Cyprus, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 20. km beneath the epicenter near Paphos, Pafos, Cyprus, in the morning on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, at 11:03 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from The Cyprus Geological Survey (CGS) which listed the quake at magnitude 2.9. Other agencies reporting the same quake include the Kandilli Oservatory and Earthquake Research Institute in Istanbul (KOERI-RETMC) at magnitude 3.4, and the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake at magnitude 3.4.

In Kato Polemidia (pop. 23,200, 40 km away), Limassol (pop. 154,000, 44 km away), Germasogeia (pop. 17,300, 46 km away), Morfou (pop. 24,100, 52 km away), and Nicosia (pop. 200,500, 77 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
