A magnitude 4.6 earthquake near Pelabuhanratu, Kabupaten Sukabumi, Jawa Barat, Indonesia, was reported only 6 minutes ago by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in Indonesia. The earthquake occurred at a moderately shallow depth of 33. km beneath the epicenter late at night on Sunday, May 17th, 2026, at 10:15 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
