OP Webmaster Launch Director Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 381,904 Los Angeles, USA	Moderate yet deep magnitude 5.2 quake hits 115 km northeast of Tiakur, Indonesia early evening An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred only 6 minutes ago 115 km northeast of Tiakur, Indonesia, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported. The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 136. km beneath the epicenter near Tiakur, Southwest Maluku Regency, Maluku, Indonesia, early evening on Monday, May 25th, 2026, at 7:23 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 5.0 earthquake. A third agency, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), reported the same quake at magnitude 5.0. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Tiakur (pop. 5,200) located 115 km from the epicenter.
