An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred only 8 minutes ago 110 km southwest of Tambolaka, Indonesia, Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 10. km beneath the epicenter near Tambolaka, Southwest Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at 5:03 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
