OP Webmaster Launch Director Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 678,976 Los Angeles, USA	Moderate magnitude 4.5 earthquake 104 km northwest of Saumlaki, Indonesia Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.5 quake in Indonesia near Saumlaki, Western Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku, only 13 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at 10:19 am local time at a great depth of 427. km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 4.5 as well. According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Saumlaki (pop. 13,800, 104 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
