Moderate magnitude 4.5 earthquake reported 33 km south of Manzanillo, Mexico

Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN) reported a magnitude 4.5 earthquake in Mexico near Manzanillo, Estado de Colima, just 26 minutes ago. The earthquake struck early Monday morning, September 28, 2026, at 1:21 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 7.70 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the earthquake may be revised over the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports.
