Magnitude 3.3 quake hits 28 miles southeast of Traralgon, Victoria, Australia, in the morning

Just 4 minutes ago, a magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck near Traralgon, Latrobe (Vic.), Victoria, Australia. The tremor was recorded on the morning of Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 9:53 am local time, at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles below the surface.
The event was reported by the citizen-seismograph network RaspberryShake, the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Woodside (pop. 350), located 2 miles from the epicenter, and Yarram (pop. 2,100), 9 miles away. In Rosedale (pop. 1,600, 26 miles away), Churchill (pop. 4,700, 27 miles away), Traralgon (pop. 26,900, 28 miles away), Longford (pop. 1,400, 29 miles away), Sale (pop. 14,300, 31 miles away), and Morwell (pop. 13,600, 31 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
