Webmaster Launch Director Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 678,977 Los Angeles, USA	Magnitude 3.5 earthquake 34 km southeast of Mexicali, Mexico A magnitude 3.5 earthquake near Mexicali, Mexicali Municipality, Estado de Baja California, Mexico, was reported only 7 minutes ago by the United States Geological Survey, considered one of the key international agencies monitoring seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 15.95 km beneath the epicenter late at night on Sunday, November 1st, 2026, at 11:50 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their reports. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which also listed the quake at magnitude 3.5. Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage but was probably felt by many people as light vibrations in the area of the epicenter. Weak shaking might have been felt in Chorizo Morelia (Ejido Morelia) (pop. 80), located 2 km from the epicenter; Nuevo Leon (pop. 3,700), 3 km away; Delta (pop. 5,200), 9 km away; Guadalupe Victoria (pop. 17,100), 17 km away; and Puebla (pop. 15,200), 23 km away.
