I have a big dish for C band but couldn't turn towards Telstar 10 due to my mr friggen neighbour's fences as his house a bit elevated hilltop. Anyway, when it was mentioned by Laser, I tought it's just been encrypted. I never had those channels from Telstar 10 but was told some friends watching and never bother to spend time, afford or money to relocate the dish as its big and require some work. Also, we're sure them be encrypted anyway.

[ 12. December 2004, 12:29 PM: Message edited by: fsking ]

Laser, I was just typing similar one to mixer with one addition. Telstar 10 has C Band Asian beam for UBI and some others and requires big C-Band Dish from 1.8m - anything bigger is better for reception. Your dish 80cm is a Ku-Band and there is no Ku-Band beam for Australia from Telstar 10...

Do you know, how long I have been trying to get even that friggen Thaicom 2/3 but having stupid neighbour fences killing my way due to my dish location. I surely get the NSS 6 with no interrupt....Some channels still available through and worth watching along the others....

In fact, doesn’t work at all. The Ku frequency is to high therefore the wavelength to small so it slips right through the holes. Only some of the signal, which hits the mesh at the right spot, ricochets and hits the LNB. So you could get some weak Ku signal from a 4 meter mesh dish, if the council allows it

[ 22. Solution is...Use a solid dish NOT mesh...with othomode for C-Band & KU-Band LNB Connection or Use Combined Type...
