Good, as long as it's big, the bigger the thing the more you get. I've seen similar one near Lazer, I think it belongs to Telstra, some kind of uplink probably.

He said that Pink will leave UBI in next 10 days and it happened. Officialy, UBI is keep telling us about "Technical Difficulties" and I hope they are not lying us. I will subscribe to the company who offers better deal, better variety of channels and better picture/sound quality.
In my humble opinion, UBI offers acceptible deal, more channels than TV+ and much better picture/sound quality. I must add, it's all worthless if I can't watch PINK, BN, BK as a part of Balkan Package. I'd rather watch blurry picture with 3 sec. sound delay than watching UBI's "Technical Difficulties" blue screen with "Lift Music"...

I'm afraid this could spell the end for UBI, a beginning of the end certainly. Not that I wish for it as I prefer more competition but unfortunately the odds are against UBI. Let me give you a very likely scenario over the next 6 to 12 months, depending how much cash UBI have to burn.
UBI cannot proceed further from Turkish and Arabic package, they strugle with the number of subscribers, they get accused of links with terrorism due to their mostly Islamic content, they get investigated, ...
You can pretty much guess the rest of this scenario. I just hope that TV+ don't abuse their monopoly on Balkan content.

...If this is correct and Pink Plus has signed exclusive rights, then that’s the stupidest thing they could have done!
Idiots don't realise that UBI can tell them to get stuffed when TV+ goes under, and I have a suspicion it is not as strong as UBI (unfortunately).

I hope Pink misses out on business in the near future, if nothing then to teach them a lesson, that is if this exclusive deal is true. If BN is stupid enough to follow suite then the same fate I wish to them.

I am disgusted in both UBI and TV+!!! These threats to channel providers to sign exclusive rights are stupid and yes, they both did it. I think from memory UBI started it, not that that maters now.

But, you know what? We are the biggest losers!!! Now it’s up to us to voice our disgust at what the providers are doing. Trust me folk, we will pay for this, no one else!

…food for thought!

Are these "exclusive" agreements all set and if so, what's UBI going to do now?

Vlad and YU4CFG you are both forgetting 1 thing… 6 months ago we were all in the same boat. $65 per month for PINK, BK, RTS & BN. You are going to be paying the same and getting more with TV+ why are you going to be screwed by TV+ think that competition will help the small local market? TV+ want to get as many customers as possible and to insure that all Balkans customers are satisfied you will see lots of creative things to get customers in and discount bundling of telephone and internet services as well. There will be competitions, freebies, sign you mates up etc and so on.

Further TV+ is committed to the Balkans and former eastern block countries and has already locked down content from Serbia, Bosnia and in final stage discussions with many providers around the world to deliver a fully fledged cost effective service.

Further as soon as 8 – 10,000 customers are on board all the former English Channels (bar E$PN) will be rolled in as well.

Further TV+ is well cashed up as well getting very solid support from Panamsat and Globecast. TV+ is in a better position than UBI – majority of the dishes are pointing to PAS8. TV+ has no stigma attached to it like UBI (TARBS 2) The content providers are very pissed of what TARBS did and what has happened in Australia. They are all aware and have heard from the many thousands of customers that lost money because of the TARBS demise they have gone to extreme lengths to insure that the same doesn’t happen again. These companies have chosen TV+ because they don’t want it to happen again and have faith in TV+. Ok you are forgetting one thing if UBI is more cashed up than other companies think where the $240 million deficit of TARBS is.. Think where that small % of UBI cash came from – YOU. YES YOU the former TARBS customer supplied seed – startup capital funding to UBI doesn’t that piss you off.. I can think of many thousands of customers that lost $$$ that would like to visit MB’s nice house in DURAL and collect..
Ok now the threats to the content providers… Ok Australia is a small market, there are twice as many Serbs in USA and the same in Canada there is 6 times as many Serbs in Germany as Australia and many hundreds of thousands of Serbs spread across Europe.

Resellers / distributors need some form of market protection in such a small market especially since the cost of infrastructure and related support services in Australia costs nearly twice as much as the US when you work out the millions needed to setup a teleport facility and all the N+1 hardware required to keep the highest uptime just to support a small niche market then you would think different..

Further TARBS was the originator of the Exclusive contracts.. in fact the former TARBS contract with RTS signed by Crjvenjakov gave TARBS global exclusivity to broadcast / sell and collect revenue globally. And this is the model done by all the companies globally for Ethnic TV. Why don’t you think that there wasn’t other competitors to TARBS previously?? Because all the content was exclusive (except for RAI and Antenna who are Globally Exclusive to WMI and WMI sell these to as many companies as possible to collect as much $$$ as possible).

You wont be suffering, you wont be the looser with TV+ in fact you will be the winner because TV+ wants to get all the former Balkan customers back and many thousands more. TV+ wants to get Serbs, Maceo’s, Bosnians (and Bosnian Muslims) Croats and more. There wont be price hikes especially since lots of the customers are pensioners TV+ understands that these customers need a commercially sensitive rate

You wont suffer in any way with TV+ you will only benefit in the long term.

I look forward to your comments..

reuder

TV+ will be ensuring their rights are protected.

Of the Balkan Channels UBI are currently broadcasting TV+ is the exclusive contractual holder to BN, BK & PINK & MK SAT in the comming weeks.

In the comming weeks you will see the content withdrawn from UBI's platform.

I just pity anybody that has sent chq's to UBI as the poor customers have lost their $$$ into the big UBI hole...

I couldn't agree more with satfreak. We do exist in a very small marketplace which can hardly support a single service provider. I was sitting on the fence untill few days ago untill it became obvious that TV+ won the race for Balkan service. Everyone should feel "PRIVLIDGED" that for a relatively little money we are able to watch TV from our home countries tens of thousand km away.

You know what I’d love? I’d love for TARBS never to have existed. I’d love for ex TARBS owners never to be able to open a business ever again and given the opportunity to rip customers off again. I’d like for more new companies to have the opportunity to provide content. I’d like there to be a healthy competition…

...and most of all I’d like for someone to explain to me what Pink is doing back on B3?

Too little too late for UBI, they shouldn't have allowed themselves to fail first time (as Tarbs). For $62.95 a month I was really enjoying 4 Serbian channels, ESPN & NGC. I feel those days will never come back. It's time to start thinking about Foxtel digital.

I think its quite sad that someone in here is putting people's hopes up about the things TV plus might and might not have.
And I can see people are getting so excited over something that probably wont even happen.

I've noticed that Pink on UBI has very blurry picture since yesterday. Like it's converted from NTSC. Pink on UBI was very clear in comparison to Pink on TV+ but now, it's the same if not even worse...

I made a few checks, results are interesting:

* BN TV on UBI is slightly better in Video Sharpness as well as Sound but one audio CH is 90% higher than other. BN TV on TV+ is about 2 seconds late but sound is of good quality.

* BK TV on UBI is much better in Video as well as Sound in comparison to TV+. Signal on UBI is 3 seconds faster than same signal on TV+.

* Pink on UBI used to be 3 seconds quicker from Pink on TV+ and since yesterday it's actually lagging behind TV+ for about 2 seconds !
(I've already mention AV quality)
It's really strange... hmmmm....

Most Serbian people want sports and movies channels in addition to the Serbian content and none of the providers currently provide both. Also most people cannot afford to pay two or more providers hence some of them will get ditched. Now let me ask you whom people will choose as their only provider? Emotionally they might go with an ethnic provider but husbands want sports as well, and wives could be leaning either way, but the kids, they're the ultimate winners and they want movies and cartoons, and the boys want sports too. I believe it's going to be very tough for an ethnic provider to stay alive without sports, movies and cartoons channels. Currently only TV+ promises some of it, we shall see about that, but the rest is pretty much doomed.
