65 cm is sufficient.<br /><br />Although, I'm using 90 cm... Works well in all conditions <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" />

I'll go in the middle 80CM hows that for confusion.<br />90cm is good in QLD where the rain is wicked.<br />I have tested three dishes one 65cm the second is 85cm and the last is 90cm all together using the same receivers, the smaller dropped out first and came back last when raining

For all the installs I have done I have used a 80CM dish.<br />The 90CM shake to much in the wind and also haveto be adjusted very accurately

BTW about legs, Vlad. I know you love your Motek, but what about LNB angle - they are changing from sat to sat. How this thing copes with that?

The elevation of this arc is 50.28 due north, here in Sydney, for example.<br />Now to "follow" the arc, the motek have off centred the arm by 30deg. so as it goes west or east of centre it actually tilts the whole dish.<br />so at 80 degrees west (280 deg) the dish is virtually laying on it's side with the arm of the LNB now horizontal. Kostya,<br />It actually tilts the arm from vertical at B3 to virtually horizontal at NSS6. So as you see it moves the LNB to the exact degree.<br /><br />BTW, If you can imagine the sats lined up on Clarks belt, imagine that every sat is normal (at 90 deg) to the ground directly bellow it. Therefore the LNB tilts to follow the apparent tilt of the sat from where we are standing.<br /><br />In Perth, people have their LNB to NSS6 almost like we in Sydney have to OPTUS B3. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" />

What about the signal strength and quality levels for it...Does it get any "rain in area" effect when its raining...

Why U.B.I operators do not want to activate the boxes if I got 42 signal quality and 46 on the power signal when i used a 65 cm dish?<br /><br />Instead they are sending me a technician to relocate the dish and charges me $85 dollars do these operators know whats going on or what?

65cm dish,, a bit small for me. I would use nothing under 75CM. 80cm is what I would use. ( hangs a bit better in QLD rain when it does rain)

Signal meter on Mentor boxes are crap.<br />Using my satellite dish meter (promax) used on foxtel installations and UBI installations signal is totally different. Mentor meter not reliable.<br />I agree Phill, in particular I use 85cm on places surrounded by trees, otherwise 65 cms does the job. As prefered installer for ubi client got the right to choose between 65 or 85 at their own cost.<br />Cheers.

Elec try and fine tune dish to peak it. Azimuth, elevation and cross pole.<br /><br />Save you the 80 bucks

Yes the cross pole plays a big part that most forget. give it a bit to the right and left and peak it in.

Lnb makes the difference.Unscrew that damn thing and move it ,freq will increas...<br />or lnb nose is not pointing the disch correctly.(all from experiance)

It comes up by 5-6 percent every time you cross a sat. I love it!<br /><br /><br />Vlad...
