Hi,

I know this is best asked off UBI themselves but I want to know if it's possible first.

The back of my IRD seems to have dish in and dish out connectors. Does this mean that I could essentially have more than 1 IRD running off my current dish possibly tuned to a diff channel?

I know in FTA Terrestrial feeds this is indeed possible, but I'm not sure how it works in the SAT world.

If it is possible, from UBI's perspective, do I have to sign up twice to get more SmartCards or is there another way?

I love my latino package - and so do the rest of my family - but I'm more into Galavision whereas my significant other prefers Ritmoson. Can anyone suggest anything?

won`t work, it`s just a loop, to another receiver, for ubi you`ll need another ubi box. all this loop does is to loop the incoming signal from the lnb to another receiver. it dosen`t decript the signal. just because you can see it on your ubi box, dosn`t mean that the signal is decrypted to the other box.
it dosn`t work like that.
sorry.

Rang UBI and as I feared, if I want to have 2 boxes running, then I need to pay 2 subscriptions.

That hardly seems fair does it when you consider that:
1. You have to buy the box yourself outright.
2. You're already paying $60 for supposedly the Whole Package.

I can understand that they have to provide a new access card and they need to charge a monthly fee for that ($25 like Phil said sounds fair) but a whole new subscription sounds unreasonable.

Was there a provision to do this in Tarbs days?

Even in TARBS the 2nd IRD was charged the same amount as the 1st.

Yes. But what is stopping Mr. Habib havin 7 boxes under his name at a reduced price of $25 selling them off to his cousins for $30??
The best thing all legit! Spose UBI is keeping the air fair.

Yes Bedouin this is the reason I said that the second and third box will be used in a different address and they split the bill between the three of them.
So its simple if a UBI sub cost you $65 and a second box cost you $20 and you got 2 of them thats $65+$20+$20= $105 Divided by three people thats $35 per house hold. Now thats cheaper then paying $65 per household..
Heee UBI aren't that stupid you know.

g`day phil, your right, but can`t they do a limit to 2 per subscriver, were first box is $60 and second $25, 2 per subscriber won`t get out of hand, and ubi will get more subscribers, as for $25 i would get an extra box.
cheers.

That sounds like a good way of handling it. But as usual those that abuse the facilities end up stuffing it up for those that would otherwise use it legitimately.

Liski, maybe you can suggest this to the powers that be.
