Should of done their homework on encryption system before going ahead especially when there's alot of reports about I2 card sharing.

This will also affect WMI as well...

You pretty much covered it for me there Phil. Foxtel/Austar can make no further adjustments to try and disrupt card sharing without breaking up the picture of their paying subscribers.

Tarbs was heavily pirated towards the end of its life with modified receivers supplied by organised groups and new ethnic channel providers will suffer the same fate with card sharing , which as I said , is painfully easy.

The easiest way is with a Dreambox , but you can also do it using a software program and a season interface. Either way , all you need is ADSL to supply you with the encryption keys of the shared card.

yes Mr Gwn method season interface is very successful and it works on most boxes like Nokias, humax etc and some are even using dialup but this hogs your line and typical dial up it drops out all the time, and I have been reading for the ones that can't get ADSL there is always ISDN. Its VERY reliable, it never drops out, Net and phone at the same time and now Bigpond has made an unliminted plan too.

In the next few weeks dream media Australia will be having a massive sale of dreamboxes via one of Australias number one forums. This will be revealed very soon. The new model 7020 and 7080 are the latest in state of the art technology, using twin tuners and even a built in DVD burner. By the way, all dreamboxes run hard disk up to 300 gigabyte, so you can watch the movies, record them to your hard drive and burn them to a DVD, all in one box. Because they have twin tuners in them, you can record one channel whilst watching another. The forum nominated in Australia to sell these dreamboxes has been already nominated and will be released in the next few days.
Phil

I don't have anithing against having a bit of free ride on monsters like Foxtel or Austar. But our ethnic TV is bloody fragile. Doing this (free ride) we can kill it really quickly and have nothing tomorrow.

The answer is simple. Why charge 60 dollars like ubi does, and not charge a more realistic price of 30.If you do the sums it will be a few years worth watching legit before you payed off all that pirate equipment....

If you paying foxtel 70+ dollars a month and somone comes to you and says you pay only 10 wont you be thinking about it????

ecomomics comes first not theft....
Everyone would love a rolex but we all buy the fake one dont we!

mixo

People don't make companies loose, their own greed is doing it. Let us pay reasonable prices and you'll stay in business and we'll be happy.....

Oh shut up you all who want a free tv.
You should be ashamed of your self’s.
How many times you went to cinema with friend or girlfriend?
You paid for 2 tickets 2 drinks and some popcorns more than 50$! And for what? One movie!
Now you winging about 60$ for at least 5 of your favorite country channels every day in a comfort of your own home for the whole month.

For some cheap bastards even if companies charge 5$ a month, still they would steal. It’s in their blood.

You can pay even $200 if you want, but you can't shut anybody up. When I see what kind of people would benefit from my money, I'm seriously thinking about that dreambox.......

Ok

When you consider that TV+ is working to bring Serbian, Maceo, Bosnian, Croat, Polish, and many other ethnicity's as well as English channels - Movie 1, Movie Extra, Movie Greats as well as National Geographic, Sports and more...

Every free rider will hurt the Balkan community as a whole so go ahead...do yourselves a great favor.. cause you are screwing us all over less subscribers means less channels means less subscribers means good bye channels...

[ 06. Ja , $50 to go to the cinema ? I dont think so.

I preferred to spend $100 on a DVD burner. I dont think hollywood multimillionaires deserve my money.

Big chief , you are correct , Australia is not big enough to sustain ethnic pay services. Which is why both UBI and TV+ will go broke.

Satfreak , if your children want to watch your " mother tongue " , you might get better value out of a plane ticket.

They will go broke even quicker if they charge only $30 for the subscription.

Ethnics will have to live with their Countries government channels who pay Globecast to put it FTA.

So for the Turks there goes everything besides TRT International.

Boring, it'll be cheaper to subscibe rather than pay for tickets for the whole family..

At the end of the day piracy will always be there, some are doing it for there family, some are doing it for profit and they are the ones I'm against because they are nothing but Greedy pricks.
Like I said TARBS was effected by this Gready Group in Melbourne importing MDS boxes, modding them and selling them to families for over $1200 with install per box, and they love confusion like when TARBS folded because their saying is "WHERE THERE IS CONFUSION THERE IS PROFIT"
I have spoken to 2 off there customers that are my friends and they are saying that UBI will be losing the Balkans channels and only TV Plus will have them and this group in Melbourne are gearing up for it, and again its there own Balkans people that ae doing it.
We talk about the Subscribtion being high for all Pay TV in Australia, that is correct it has to be
because of our small population and the cost of getting these channels to Australia.
But on the other hand people will always try to find a cheaper way to get there channels for less.
Now "Boring spoke about DVD's yes what a rip off, do you know it cost 42 cents to make/pack and deliver a DVD anywhere in the world but they wanted and got my money two years ago for "PEARL HARBOUR" I had to pay $45,,,, what a rip off and the guy over the counter said to me pay up or you don't get it mate!!! yes from 42 cents to $45 for one movie and you wonder why they have dug there own grave on DVD's because like "boring" said you can buy a DVD burner for around $100, the Best Disc say riteks around 90 cents each, a box of blank clear covers of 100 for $30, the best Label DVD printer like Canon i865 or a Epson R310 for under $300 free software like DVD Shrink that uses Nero to burn and presto your away, and don't forget Covers .cc... like Pay TV you buy one and share it with your 10 mates and at the end of the day that $45 movie now cost you $4.50 and remember the original cost of producing it is 42 cents.
Nothing but Gread!!!

Phil,
They must be so friggen hopeless or stupid to pay $1200 for a box knowing that they will have limited life of their channels by screwing the provider company. What a dump way to loose money! Those greedy pricks f--ks everybody by cards/mods etc and makes big money and whoever deals with them will be digging his own ethnic channels grave...

Ja I think you are wrong. There still a lot of people going to the movies, but I for one, dont go unless its a tuesday.

I certainly dont buy popcorn at the cinema , it a pure rip off, i goto safway and buy my goodies then head for the cinema.

The way i see movies is on dvd on my home cinema, no its not a 20,000 home cinema but a 1,000 dollars one on a 68 cm tv, and i enjoy that more than the movies and it costs me tops 7 bucks a movie, if i goto blockbuster.

People want value for money, and if people think they are paying to much they will rip it off, and guess what JA, people are ripping off these compines because they are getting riped off..

There is nothing wrong in paying 60 bucks if you feel its a value price, most people I would say think the opposite...

mixo

quote:
Originally posted by ja:
Oh shut up you all who want a free tv.
You should be ashamed of your self’s.
How many times you went to cinema with friend or girlfriend?
You paid for 2 tickets 2 drinks and some popcorns more than 50$!
