Looks like my 70cm may not be up to it if it stays like this.
YU4CFG, It has been like this for ca 2 months - since this tp started. In summer we don't get condensation in Melbourne - the air is bone dry even at nights and early mornings. It (reception on this tp) actually gets better at night. As you probably know we haven't had much rain here this year, rarely get heavy clouds and no... no big turtle(?) on my roof.
I was just hoping for some impressions from someone from here and, as me with 70cm dish.

Is the source from Globecast or Pemamedia?? Either way excellent.. We cant wait to catch up on some of the shows... Just chatted to the Pumamedia director on the bat phone.. Got some intersting info.. The signal will be starting tonight!! Tomorrow Morning at the latest. It will be FTA for at least two months.. Tarbs boxes are useless, as we know UBI has rendered them a boat anchor.. The package for a new Box with card will be $320. The encryption will be Irdeto-1. They will sell the card only option for $55 however be aware no warranty on if it will work with your current STB will be given. Monthly charge $49.. The STB info is that its a Globecast designed box called a Sonicbox PGTV500.

"Sonicbox PGTV 500 is the new decoder that has been designed specifically for the Globecast/PanGlobal platforms and has the Globecast Customer Key software contained within. This software allows Globecast/PanGlobal to send software updates from the satellite directly to the box without the customer doing a thing. The software has been custom designed for Australia and New Zealand and is extremely easy to use. It is 100% Korean made and it is an extremely reliable box that can be used for both Commercial and Residential purposes. "

So there you have it.. People wanting the Polish will again have to buy a custom designed box that preumably will be able to receive other FTA and not only TVP. Has anyone heard of these PGTV500's... If so how similar are they to the Humax 5410z.. I happen to have one and was wondering if the card option is the way to go...??

Irdeto 1 hhhhmmmmm.... not very secure wonder why they have chosen Irdeto 1 over Irdeto 2 which is more newer and most Aus pay tv providers are using that now ..?

[ 06. Tried googling for the box info... It looks like the box is Irdeto-2 not 1... I think the Boss of Puma media has been given crap info... The box is actually Irdeto2... Which will keep the dreamers happy. Anyway sorry about that I thought he would know the diff between 1 and 2.. Loks like his just a businessman after all..

So its like a feed channel? I guess... I remember being up in the NT once on a cool camping trip, this guy had a Sat Tv setup in his caravan and he was getting all sorts of feeds going between East and West Autralia... It was cool watching the same program twice a day Had to be there Ah the things you remember.. Hey Lazer what STB do you use.. Does your automatically tell you when a new channel pops up?? Or do you have some sort of Multi screen setup on your pc.. I was looking at some PC Cards that display 16 Channels on the one window.. Ever heard of them...

i don't know but i got a feeling that this company won't last for long. Puma Media is a sister company of Puma Press a company that 'imports' polish movies and organises polish concerts. They are not that huge, and I have no clue where they will get the money to run this business, which I believe is not that cheap.

But then, if they go bankrupt, then I doubt TVP will sign a contract with any other company in Australia again...I think we are in a loose/loose situation here....
