What is everyone doing for digital tv? Probably best to use a set top tuner.
Anyone seen any at reasonable costs? They are so expensive I will like to see them shut off the analog at the prices I have seen!

hi dave
from what i have seen the best model to get is the DGTEC set-top box its sells from $650 to $1150 so shop around
it has DD 5.1 audio output (this is the only one that has so far)
some progs are in DD
as well as Two channel MIX
high D tuner but lets you display it on ad Analog TV
but also has a HD output for the lucky few that have PLASMA
searh on web ( DGTEC) and there is all the info
but best to wait for the new ones that have a hard disk in them as they have the someone is on the phone feature
ie you sat down to watch a Program and some one rings you on the phone or a Knock at the door you hit this button and the Harddisk starts to rec
you come back and hit the cont button and your show cont were you left and in the mean time it is still rec so that you dont miss nothing

it does this by having two tuners in it like some Sat recviers
some can even rec a show with out the commercials COOOL
and i think that this could be the hold up at the moment as the ad companys might have a problem with it
