Had an interesting discussion with the UBI office today. I joined UBI earlier in the year and put an old lady friend of mine as the recipient of the one month free subscription. I met her the other day and asked her if she received the month free subscription. She informed me that she didn't. Rang UBI and some "clown" on the phone informed me that they couldn’t find her on the records and as I did not get back in a week with her details they can no longer give her the rebate. Is this correct? I read the contract and cannot see anywhere any reference to time to nominate a friend. Maybe Liski can enlighten me. What a rip-off

Robert,
Firstly no need to call any customer service representative a clown.
The RAF lead time to supply the RAF Customer ID has always been 7 days as a goodwill gesture if you weren't able to supply it at the time of activation.
The RAF Terms & Conditions are always supplied when you call UBI for further assistance.

Liski Sorry if I insulted your customer service rep. but he was not helpful and rude. In regards to the RAF ID number on the day of the installation I gave the telephone operator the name and address of the person I wanted to benefit from the free month. I had no idea that I had to also supply the customer ID number. I have checked through the contract that I signed and there is no reference to times and or ID numbers. I thought I could help this old lady friend of mine but it looks like she will miss out. Don’t worry I will give her the money out of my pocket. Another black mark against UBI.

I did contact you one day late as I was overseas as I explained. You took the details and said nothing else. If one day makes the difference so be it. I can't wait till the time comes I can get out of dealing with this "non customer orientated company".

Robert,
I asked you to PM me YOUR Customer ID by 10/04/08.
You posted in an open public forum the lady's FULL NAME and CUSTOMER ID which is not something that should be done - respect people's privacy.
It's not my fault that you were overseas and you weren't able to supply me YOUR Customer ID as required by 10/04/08. All RAF issues had to be completed by this date.
I don't work for a "non customer orientated company". If I did then I wouldn't of tried to help you in the first place - it's simply that there are rules and policies in place for customers and staff and that we all must abide by them. I tried to help but you weren't able to get back to me in time.
I won't be responding any further regarding this matter.
