Well what a day I had, I took my Car (VR Commodore) to "THE BRAKE SHOPP" In Brendale north Brisbane to get a Oil leak fixed in the Auto Transmission. Now, I have had this problem for over 2 years, so I decided to fix it. I have done my own diagnosis and have found out EXACTLY where the oil is coming from. It comes out only after the car has been idle for three days (oil drains back from the converter), or when you jack the passengers side of the car a foot off the ground, so the oil goes to one side. Now the oil is escaping from the wiring harness socket that feeds the electronics inside the gear box. Now, this socket is either cracked or the O-ring is defective. Once taking it to the Brake Stopp I explained to them very vigorously where the oil is coming from but no not them, they look for other ways of finding oil leaks. They said the oil is coming from the speed sensor etc etc and they found the rear mount to be defective. What a lof of crap!!!, there is nothing wrong with the speed sensor, nor the rear gearbox mount. All they are trying to do is get a little extra along the way. Now you remember I came in here for an oil leak problem, after they completed and I had to part with $319.00 I told them this will not fix the problem, so I went home, jacked the car up with the floor jack on the passengers side and within 20 minutes oil started to spew out of the socket. I rang this prick up and told him that I was correct and he was wrong and he said bring it in and we will fix it for another $300.00 plus. Fair dinkum!! Now, remember I did not go there for a transmission service, nor to change the mount or the speed sensor, so all this shit was done and I was still left with the oil leak. Now the Department of Fair trading tells you you can take him to the small claims tribunal but is it worth it??? But I can tell you one thing thats worth is.... I will spend the next 10 fucking years, I don't care where I am, I will change the subject and I will redirect it to motor vehicles and repairers and I will clearly mention to all my friends and relatives in Brisbane where NOT to take your car for a service UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!! And because I am a lot older than the rest of the family and friends, they always respect and listen to me. I spent 4 hours in this butcher shop and he had not one other customer come in. If he cons his customers like he conned me, you wonder why the shop was empty and he has to stoop to such unethical ways to make a dollar. This will not stop here and I have realised that the power of the media is good because I would not like it to happen to any of my friends and family. There are other sites on the web today and they will get a copy of this post. If I can stop one person getting his car serviced there, I have won!!!!!!!!

Thumbs down to the rip off merchants.
God help anyone who doesn't know cars and takes it to a workshop similar to this shark.

Phil

Jason
How are you? Yes its funny isn't it I "NEVER" let anyone touch anything of mine, I dont give a shit what it is I always prefer doing it myself because I know I can do a better job.
The Problem is Would you let this Company touch your gearbox again,,,,,No its too easy to sabotage the Gearbox so it stuffs up later,I prefer to chase him for changing unnecessary Parts (had the Rear mount and sensor tested today by a friend of mine (mechanic)"NO PROBLEMS".
The R.A.C.Q (NRMA DOWN SOUTH)up here will get a call tomorrow from me complaining about unnecessary changing of parts that dont need to be replaced, lots of repair shops up here have been in trouble for over servicing 'A CURRENT AFFAIR" has caught heaps they will also get my call.
These pathetic repair shops dont they realise that the customer could be anyone working for their dreaded most feared department. They are stupid because they must know I am going to tell everone I talk too,or maybe they think I am going to forget about it after a week "I AM MALTESE" I am even thinking of to go to church and going to the confession box and when the Priest opens his little window I am going to say "FATHER I HAVE SINNED I HAVE TAKEN MY COMMODORE TO A RIP OFF MERCHANT " THE BRAKE STOPP" DONT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE HE IS DISHONEST,Yes I dont give a fuck where I go, I AM GOING TO TELL EVERYONE, I AM EVEN GOING TO TALK ABOUT IT IN MY SLEEP you know me Jason this rip off merchant will regret this $319 he scored off me because my mouth alone will be worth more than that. I was busy today, working but I won't be tomorrow.
Phil

Phil
As you know my sister lives in Brisbane, She has been ripped off twice in the last 3 years for over servicing. She complained to the RACQ I think and because she has her car insured with them they followed the matter up.
The thing that bothered her she said to me they belonged to the so called "MTA' group so what does that mean because you are a "MTA" member you are squeaky clean, For me I prefer the back yard operator they are more honest, the bigger the company the more desperate they are, like you said you go for a small Oil Leak and they want to replace your alternator/balljoints/front seat/ clutch/fanbelts/etc and if they dont find anything they will manafucture some thing.
They use to do things like this in South Africa where I use to live 10 years ago but they dont do it much anymore, why!!! too many of them became deceased.
Peter

I have already spoken to 9 people about this subject and also I have spoken to RACQ and waiting for a reply fron "MTA QLD" My opinion is I dont want my money back he can keep it,I just want to stop 100 innocent people going there to get their cars stooged thats 100 times average $250 thats $25,000
That will teach him a lesson !
Phil
