If they keep doing things, soon you will not even have anything unless you pay for it

Look now at DVDs. The MPAA (that thinks it controls the world) has now imposed speed limits on the speed that DVD-ROMs and DVD writers can read pre recorded (printed DVDs).

Maximum spped allowed now is x2. THerefore it will take 30 minutes to read 4 GB DVD to your hard drive.

Since the MPAA and all the studios (funny how opposition Studios join forces when $$$ are threatened) lost its court case against the people who managed to unscramble the CSS algorithm.

Since now web sites CAN carry the code and software they now have moved onto a new area of slowing drives.

I have a SCSI DVD-ROM that can read a entire dual layered DVD in under 7 minutes

So Phil this sounds the same logic as with rights. If they can't stop you one way, they will another
