Light magnitude 4.1 earthquake 49 km west of Neyshabur, IranAn earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred 34 minutes ago 49 km west of Neyshabur, Iran, the Iranian Seismological Center (IRSC) reported. The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 9 km beneath the epicenter near Neyshabur, Razavi Khorasan, Iran, early afternoon on Tuesday 12 January 2021 at 3:16 pm local time. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Neyshabur (pop. 220,900) located 49 km from the epicenter, and Sabzawār (pop. 226,200) 51 km away.
