Just asking I have been listening to B 105 and other FM stations for a while but they don't seem to play my type of music for my age group. What i'm after is the seventies and eighties ETC.
thanks
George

The wife listen to i think 96.5 but she isn't happy
as she likes a lot of the golden oldies and i think this is where most of the stations fail as they are forgetting about us old farts.

Now this is a very interesting post.
Back in the Sydney days before I moved up here 7 years ago I use to listen to 2SM but it became stale and just about that time a new Radio station came to air (local) and it was 2WS and I loved it because it played all my music from my era. Now when we moved from Sydney whilst driving over the Hawkesbury River Bridge I waved 2WS good bye and with weeks of starting our new life up here in Brisbane with plenty of work to do I pondered about trying to find a radio station that fed my needs. Now I can tell you this I pondered for 3 years going from station to station saying don't these stations up here play my type of music? Whats wrong with them?. Then one day I was flicking through the AM band and one of my all time favourites was on air "Macarthur Park' by Richard Harris. As this song reminds me of a disaster I went through (Divorce)
so I decided to give this station 4BH 882 on the am dial a go. Now within hours they played another 3 or 4( forgot) of my all time favourite songs (abba etc)and from that day till today all the radio's in the house, Garage, all my 3 cars, my 25 year old transistor radio are locked on 4BH.
Now as for time listening to radio well I can tell you this even when I'm on my computer I have the radio on and outside doing the gardening the Radio is with me every bit of the way.
Guys give 4BH a go, you won't regret it as I know we have lots of members on this forum that are around my age group and they are also in the dark like I was.
Phil

I had the pleasure to meet Phil dressed very officially in Melbourne last year and we still talk about him at UNI today but what I would like to know is whose payroll he is on, (REMOVED BY PHIL, WHO YOU THINK I WORK FOR IS MY BUSINESS , KEEP ON TOPIC.) some horrible rumours getting around who he works for. Just put it this way if you shit on him you might get an official visit. Another thing don't be confused by his appearance he is a master of disguise. I like the guy he is intelligent and very good at what he does. Sorry Phil I had to say this because you get around and no he doesn't work for a radio station.

[ 09. It would be interesting to see If 4 BH has done a survey lately to see what the age group is that listens to that station.

Most radio announcers are full of shit, they're nice on the job but make poor neighbours and generally have few friends.Who knows maybe they have big heads.

Well that covers a lot of professions these days and yes you are correct they are possibly snobs like others. Radio announcers have a job to do and they are in the public limelight but so do a lot of us. Ask Phil he knows all about this.

Well the above comes with the job.
I don't know why they should be stuck up their not realy in the public eyes like others are. look at Phil he has made the front page of our local rag twice in the last 4 years about the war in Iraq. And as others know he pops up here and there in different states.
Now for the Music side of things i'm happy with 4 BH. Thanks for the tip Phil.
