Small tremor of magnitude 3.3 just reported 7 miles northwest of Anchorage, Alaska, United States 3.3 quake 6 Mar 11:42 pm (GMT -9) Just 9 minutes ago, a 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Anchorage, Anchorage County, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded late at night on Saturday 6 March 2021 at 11:42 pm local time, at a moderately shallow depth of 21 miles below the surface. The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.3 as well. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Point MacKenzie (pop. 530) located 4 miles from the epicenter, Anchorage (pop. 298,700) 7 miles away, Elmendorf Air Force Base (pop. 6,600) 13 miles away, Eagle River (pop. 24,800) 15 miles away, Eagle River (pop. 24,800) 15 miles away, and Big Lake (pop. 3,400) 15 miles away. In Knik-Fairview (pop. 14,900, 20 miles away), Houston (pop. 2,200, 24 miles away), and Wasilla (pop. 9,300, 27 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
