Moderate 4.3 quake hits near Hafnir, Reykjanesbær, Southern Peninsula, Iceland 4.3 quake 6 Mar 4:43 pm (GMT -2) An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred in the afternoon on Saturday 6 March 2021 at 4:43 pm local time near Hafnir, Reykjanesbær, Southern Peninsula, Iceland, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 17 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
