Significant earthquake of magnitude 5.1 just reported 88 km southeast of San José de Jachal, Argentina

Just 8 minutes ago, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck near San José de Jachal, Departamento de Jáchal, San Juan, Argentina. The tremor was recorded late at night on Monday 31 May 2021 at 11:48 pm local time, at an intermediate depth of 80 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 5.1 earthquake as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in San Agustin de Valle Fértil (pop. 6,900) located 42 km from the epicenter, and San José de Jachal (pop. 21,000) 88 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Chimbas (pop. 73,800) located 123 km from the epicenter, and Santa Lucia (pop. 43,600) 127 km away.
