An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 occurred only 13 minutes ago 53 km north of Pārūn, Afghanistan, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate depth of 91 km beneath the epicenter near Pārūn, Nuristan, Afghanistan, in the morning on Thursday 24 June 2021 at 8:58 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.5 earthquake.
