Small magnitude 3.0 earthquake 34 miles northwest of Toyah, Texas, United States3.0 quake 1 Aug 11:22 pm (GMT -5) Just 19 minutes ago, a 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Toyah, Reeves County, Texas, USA. The tremor was recorded late at night on Sunday 1 August 2021 at 11:22 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles below the surface. The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it. A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake as well. According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Toyah (pop. 98, 34 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
