Just 16 minutes ago, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Nagqu Prefecture, Tibet, China. The tremor was recorded early morning on Wednesday 18 August 2021 at 4:20 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Nagqu Prefecture (pop. 30,000) located 106 km from the epicenter.
