Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.5 just reported 17 km northwest of Hato Mayor del Rey, Dominican Republic 4.5 quake 27 Sep 8:15 pm (GMT -4) A magnitude 4.5 earthquake near Hato Mayor del Rey, Hato Mayor, Provincia de Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic, was reported only 11 minutes ago by the United States Geological Survey, considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity in the Dominican Republic. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate depth of 116.1 km beneath the epicenter in the evening on Monday, September 27th, 2021, at 8:15 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
