Moderate 4.4 quake hits near Mito, Mito-shi, Ibaraki, Japan

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred early morning on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, at 4:08 am local time near Mito, Mito-shi, Ibaraki, Japan, as reported by the United States Geological Survey.
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at an intermediate depth of 70.4 km. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
