Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.4 just reported 60 km southwest of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Iraq near Sulaymaniyah, Qaḑā’ as Sulaymānīyah, only 12 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the evening on Monday, January 10th, 2022, at 9:29 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 72 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
