Magnitude 4.5 earthquake strikes near Golfito, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica

An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred only 26 minutes ago 30 km southwest of Golfito, Costa Rica, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 12 km beneath the epicenter near Golfito, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica, in the morning on Friday, June 17th, 2022, at 7:07 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
