An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred only 9 minutes ago 11 miles southwest of Healy, Alaska, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of miles beneath the epicenter near Healy, Denali, Alaska, USA, early morning on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022, at 6:03 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.0.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include McKinley Park (pop. 190) located 10 miles from the epicenter, and Healy (pop. 1000) 11 miles away. In Ferry (pop. 33, 19 miles away), and Cantwell (pop. 220, 26 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
