Moderate magnitude 4.1 earthquake 31 km east of Kīsh, Iran 4.1 quake 22 Jun 10:36 am (GMT +4:30) The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.1 quake in Iran near Kīsh, Kish, Hormozgan, only 24 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022, at 10:06 am local time at a very shallow depth of 8 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Kīsh (pop. 20,900) located 31 km from the epicenter.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Bandar-e Lengeh (pop. 22,800) located 55 km from the epicenter.
