Small 3.1 quake hits near Toyah, Reeves County, Texas, USA
3.1 quake 28 Jul 7:48 am (GMT -5)

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.1 quake in the United States near Toyah, Reeves County, Texas, only 14 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at 7:48 am local time at a very shallow depth of 3.1 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 3.1 as well. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 3.1.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Toyah (pop. 98, 43 miles away), and Loving (pop. 1,400, 46 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
