An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred in the afternoon on Tuesday, August 9th, 2022, at 5:29 pm local time near Queenstown, Queenstown-Lakes District, Otago, New Zealand, as reported by New Zealand's Earthquake Commission and Geological Survey (GeoNet).
