The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.3 quake in Chile near Illapel, Choapa, Coquimbo Region, only 26 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Saturday, August 20th, 2022, at 5:15 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 103 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
