Moderate 4.5 quake hits near Jalalabad, Jalālābād, Nangarhar, Afghanistan 4.5 quake 29 Nov 11:02 pm (GMT +4:30) Just 16 minutes ago, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Jalalabad, Jalālābād, Nangarhar, Afghanistan. The tremor was recorded late at night on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, at 10:32 pm local time, at an intermediate depth of 120.6 km below the surface.
The event was filed by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Mohmand Darrah (pop. 6,800) located 18 km from the epicenter, Markaz-e Woluswalī-ye Āchīn (pop. 15,100) 38 km away, Jalalabad (pop. 200,300) 48 km away, Shabqadar (pop. 66,500) 57 km away, Tangi (pop. 29,400) 63 km away, Charsadda (pop. 95,300) 75 km away, Āsmār (pop. 15,700) 80 km away, and Kohat (pop. 151,400) 100 km away.
