An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 occurred early morning on Saturday, June 24th, 2023, at 2:07 am local time near Beihai, Guangxi, China, as reported by the China Earthquake Networks Center (CEIC).
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 20 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
