Significant earthquake of magnitude 5.2 just reported 100 km southwest of Jayapura, Indonesia

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 5.2 quake in Indonesia near Jayapura, Kota Jayapura, Papua, only 14 minutes ago. The earthquake hit after midnight on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, at 12:18 am local time at a shallow depth of 18 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which listed it as a magnitude 5.0 earthquake.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Abepura (pop. 62,200) located 88 km from the epicenter, and Jayapura (pop. 404,000) 100 km away.
