Small 2.9 quake hits near Kanpi, Anangu Pitjantjatjara, South Australia, Australia 2.9 quake 26 Sep 2:34 am (GMT +9:30) An earthquake of magnitude 2.9 occurred early morning on Tuesday, September 26th, 2023, at 2:04 am local time near Kanpi, Anangu Pitjantjatjara, South Australia, Australia, as reported by Geoscience Australia (GeoAu). According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
